Eggspectations!!!

Growing up in on the Colombian Atlantic Coast, we didn't have any connection between Easter and Eggs, the only special eggs we ate at that time of the year were the ones coming from the iguanas! The rabbits were on the dinner table and not in the store windows.

Last Easter I visited in St. Petersburg, the Faberge Museum. I was amazed at the beauty, detail and craftsmanship of these eggs!

In Architecture and hotel design, I am a big fan of using pure geometric shapes and the oval one is one of my favorites, from floor plans to elements like bathroom mirrors, sinks and even urinals.

On my first visit to Tokyo, I found, while walking around, what I consider my most memorable building from the city, the Tokyo International Forum. The outside doesn't prepare for what it is inside, a wonderful space with proportions that reminds you of how small we are.

Going back to where I started this blog, Easter eggs, from our own personal believes and our memories growing up, their meaning may be different. For me, personally, it's about life, a time for new beginnings, opportunities and being open to experience them. What is their meaning for you? Hope it has one, because no matter our nationality or cultural background, we should aim to live to the the fullest, believing that we can accomplish our dreams and fulfill our own Eggspectactions!!!
